Microsoft screws people in the name of "security" again. So what else is new?

Until recently when I switched from Edge to Firefox, I never got the feature to work and so turned it off. I will not miss this one.

So does this affect Microsoft accounts people use to play games like Minecraft, login to Game Pass or Xbox or Microsoft Accounts to use Office 365?

Every time I edit the background in Edge, my edit background & expand icons/buttons disappear & then I can no longer get edit background back unless I reset my computer. I've reset it 3 times & the buttons come back each time, but the minute I edit my theme, I'm back to square one.

Bro, why they I have removed to follow the RUclips creators from edge ? I was using that a lot 😕

Lucky me I still have a relatively powerful computer (X58 with i7-970) that uses Windows 7 and Google Chrome cannot upgrade since January 2023.

Wintoys is awesome too cause the whole point of it is to make it easy for the user to optimize their computer. It has a section in it that will let you filter services into categories like necessary and useless. It has an App, Services, Performance, and Tweaks section! Totally worth checking out. and it's free!

New outlook is awful and full of adds and web based I stoped using it and deleted it.

One has to ask what the heck is in an photo viewer app that require so much startup resources...

I hate how Edge constantly bombards me to set Edge as my default browser.

Copilot is everywhere! In taskbar, in Edge, in Office apps, in Bing, in my phone... And it's the biggest fiasco lately. I tried it many times, it mostly gives me Bing search results instead of an answer! Sometimes it gets angry and terminates the chat without a reason. Out of tens of times, it was useful once only, by writing me a script.

Do you like Copilot? Surprised a longtime Windows user wouldn't debloat that garbage from their OS. Winutil is nice tool to turn off tracking, unnecessary processes, Bing search etc

It makes more sense if it was due to a hacker that found a way to use it to change system settings

I solved the spyware app, Chrome, by uninstalling it on all my PCs.

Migrated 3 Windows 10 boxes to Linux.

I uninstalled copilot on all my windows PCs. I have no interest in left-wing AI.

Thanks for this tip! I am tried this on my Windows 10 Laptop and I am able to change the registry settings and sounds, However, when I actually go to log on or log off, it doesn't play those sounds. Does it actually work for you?

I don't understand why they are so concerened with usage of every tab except the active tab. Before chrome changed it the very first flag regarding controlling memory use they issued allowed the browser to manage memeory used based on the users memory use rather than just putting tabs to sleep. It was great it reduced my browsers memory usage by 30%. now they've taken that away in favor of putting tabs to sleep. What good is that if your only using one tab. Not much point of putting tabs to sleep if the active tab is already using more memory by itself than a single tab should!
